This is another piece in the "found objects" series. It is similar in design to the piece entitled "The Core." However, it has two heatsinks, both of which protrude from opposite sides of the granite slab. They are arranged in a manner that lets light pass through both as if they were one piece passing through the granite void.
I met Donald when he and I enlisted in the Navy on Feb. 12, 1970; he and I became friends in boot camp. We did not serve on the same ship, nor have we lived in the same state for more than three decades. Even so, we have remained friends to this day. I created this piece to commemorate this friendship that has lasted almost five decades. It is now part of his collection.
